Fankeys is a Telegram bot created by an Italian team (3 guys from Sicily, Italy) through which you can create restricted content that users of your channel can unlock for a fee.

The coins that the system relies on are called “Keys,” and users can purchase them within the app using Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other payment systems.

Install the Bot on Telegram

To proceed with the installation, go to the bot page and click the “Start” button at the bottom.

You will then see the screen below:

The important options to take into account are at the bottom, highlighted by the red rectangle.

As you can see, you start with 0 Keys, but you have a button to add new ones.

Below the “Chat” button, there is another one that allows you to create your account as a creator.

Buy Keys

If you want to buy Keys, you will have to click the button that says “Add Keys.”

You will be asked how many you want to purchase. You can choose between 500, 1000, 2500, 5000, 10000, and 50000.

After selecting the desired cut, you can proceed to payment.

As you see below, the accepted payment methods are many (VISA, Mastercard, America Express, Stripe, Google Pay, and Apple Pay) and rely on Telegram’s API to ensure security.

Click the pay $5.50 button, select the payment method, and you will add your Keys to your account.

Now you will be ready to use this bot to unlock private and exclusive content from other creators.

How much does a key cost on fanKeys?

One key on fanKeys costs 0.01€. The price varies slightly depending on how many you buy but is always around a penny.

Register a Creator Account

To register a creator account and begin actively using the fanKeys bot, click on the “Creator Application” button.

Fill out the form with the info required and you have your account. Now you are ready to start making money with this Telegram bot.

Now, if you go back to the main, you will notice new additional buttons:

Here you can explore your public page, create restricted content, or check the earnings dashboard.

Doing KYC

On the main page of your restricted area, you are told that you must verify your KYC identity before getting started. You will be asked for some documents and a selfie.

The platform is still in its early days as there is no integration between the website and the mobile phone. So, you cannot directly upload photos through your smartphone. Note that the selfie must be taken with a piece of paper with the name and date written on it.

I think a technology like Onfido, which makes everything simple and straightforward, will soon be integrated, so this problem will be easily overcome.

After entering all the required data, you are told to wait until the identity verification process is completed.

Decide on the Price for Each Piece of Restricted Content

In your profile section, scroll down, and you will find the input fields to enter the cost of each of your content pieces.

Here, you have to set how many Keys you want to get for each unblocked message. The system will automatically calculate the net gain, taking into account the commissions you will have to pay.

Withdraw Earnings

You can withdraw earnings via bank transfer or via PayPal. The minimum amount is $50. This process will make sense only after you start selling content on Telegram. In the next section, you will go over how to do that.

How to Create Exclusive Content on fanKeys

Once the KYC is done and all the data is set up, you can create exclusive content to sell on Telegram with fanKeys.

First, if you closed the bot, you need to restart it.

To do that, select it within Telegram, press the “Menu” button, then “Main Menu,” as you see in the image below:

Now, in the menu that appears, tap on the “Lock new content” button, and you will get to your restricted area.

Then you need to tap on the button highlighted in red in the image below:

After tapping on the button, you will get to the content creation page. Here, you will have four possible options to make a piece of content exclusive.

In the image below, you can see all the types currently available.

Depending on what you choose, there will be different unlocking conditions.

The 4 options are:

• Unlock Party
• Lucky Last
• Random Unlock

Basic Unlock

The traditional way to lock your content. You set a number of Keys required for unlocking, and every user who pays the amount will gain access to it.

You can also set a maximum number of unlocks, after which it will be no longer available for unlocking.

Unlock Party

This type is very collaborative. All the users who want to will send you a number of Keys that you’ve set. They can do this several times.

Once your chosen total limit is reached, those who have donated at least once will receive the content.

Lucky Last

This is the same as the unlock party, but the content is received only by the last donor. In other words, the user who reaches the threshold gets the content.

Random Unlock

It works just like the basic unlock but you can decide the unlock chance, from 1% to 50%.

Publish Exclusive Content

After you’ve completed the setup (keys needed, description, and other features), you can publish your content.

So far, these steps have been taken within the website, but now you need to go back to the app.

The bot will ask you if you want to add a preview image, and soon after you will have your live content.

The screen will look exactly as you see below:

As you can see, it shows the number of Keys needed, how many times it can be unlocked, and the description (I set “Discussion with ChatGPT“).

At this point, you can send it to all the groups and channels you want by simply forwarding it as if it was a regular Telegram message.

Activate Subscriptions

There is also the possibility of activating monthly subscriptions that people can join to see all content together.

To activate them, you will need to ask customer service to do so (you can find it at the fanKeys Support Telegram channel @fankeysupport).

You will only need to provide them with your fanKeys ID, which can be found in the section settings of the restricted area, as in the image below:

Once you receive confirmation of activation, you will get a Telegram message containing a link to the group. So if you want you can join to keep it under control (but it’s not required).

After doing this step, you only need to specify the monthly cost of the subscription in the restricted area.

Now, on your public fanKeys page, users will see the subscription button with the cost you have chosen.

If users click on it, they will be taken to a payment page, where they can proceed with registration.

How to create content for the VIP group

To insert a piece of content into the Telegram private VIP group you just need to click “Yes” in the drop-down menu you see below highlighted in red. Do this when you need to create a new private content.

In this way, the image (or video or audio) will automatically appear in the group and your members can see it without any problems.

How Much Can You Make With fanKeys?

With fanKeys, you can make $1 per exclusive content if you set 100 Keys as the cost to unblock it.

If you set 500, you will earn $5 for each unlock.

The platform will keep 2.5% per transaction.

How Is Exclusive Content Handled?

Thanks to Telegram’s security system, all the exclusive content that you share cannot be forwarded or screenshotted.

Clearly, there is always a way to copy them, starting with taking a picture of the screen with another cell phone. But this problem exists with all kinds of content and always will, so I would not worry too much about it.

How fanKeys Earns

FanKeys’ earnings come from a percentage of creator earnings.

If we set a price of 500 Keys to unlock content, we will earn $5 gross and $4.37 net.

Since in the restricted area I see “fanKeysFee: 12.5%”, I think commissions will decrease as your traffic increases.
